Surfing around

Why surfing is a lifestyle not only a sport?

Well when I met surfers for the first time I really thought it is a bit of an exaggeration but I know already that it is absolutely true. It is a way of living.

While becoming a surfer you learn to love and care for nature. Your life becomes a quest to find all ways to preserve what is left for us.

You realize the ocean is the gift of God and it needs care just like everything else.

Less pollution with chemicals and more  beach clean-ups and pocket ashtrays and people who actually don’t leave their trash behind.

We switched to bamboo toothbrushes and dry shampoo and soap whenever we can.

There are plenty if recycled things these days.

You can even find dog poo bags that are biodegradable, isn’t that awesome?

Not to mention not using single use plastics but using textile bags instead when buying fruits and veggies and just trying to avoid all artificial consumer products like fast food and overpackaged stuff.

These thoughts were always at the back of my mind but I am deifinitely more conscious nowadays.

We live an outdoor life in an indoor world with my beautiful family and we learn how to leave this World one day with a relatively clean conscience leaving less carbon footprints.

I find a wonderful analogy in waves. They are washing our problems away but sometimes they bring the problems to shore. When we go running on the beach, especially after massive storms. It is incredible to see the amount of trash that appears there. We also collect soke but there are other people who do beach clean ups too.

My favorite initiatives are coral gardens. I am absolutely blown away by the importance of these tiny animals.

We have adopted a coral for my daughter’s birthday two years ago. I would love to do a scuba diving course and take part in this wonderful project.

Peace out to all and don’t forget
