Spontaneous trip to Croatia

To be honest I was afraid of spending winter in Hungary. I was so happy last year for not being sick. I wanted to prepare for winter with a quick trip to Croatia in October.

With my friend and my daughter and our dog and cat.

It turned out to be a very good decision. Our accommodation was really close to the sea on Karma street. I can only recommend the location. Fantastic view, well equipped apartment.

The first thing we did was to check the water temperature right after sunset.

It was an awesome start.

The following day we just went for a short walk to the store and after filling up the fridge we decided to swim at the same spot.

My daughter tried snorkeling for the first time and she did quite well!

It was so nice to introduce her to the underwater world.

We had our waterproof camera so we managed to take some funny shots and recordings.

Unfortunately the underwater living community is not as rich as it used to be back in the days when I was a child. We used to go to Croatia and I remember there were much more fishes and sea plants and creatures…

Not anymore. But it is still beautiful. It is just important to take notice of this rapid change and do our best individually to slow down these changes.

To continue with our story we went on to visit the city center in the evening. Old town Zadar is charming. We have watched the sunset at the sea organ. It is a built in structure under the ground where the waves enter and make different sounds which we can hear upstairs at street level.

The other interesting sight here is the sun salutation circle. It is a bunch of sun collectors which light up after sunset and start to play a light show.

After this we had a very nice dinner at this medieval looking restaurant: Groppo.

The last day we went to the other end of the island to check out the rocky beach.

I took my yoga silk and slack line and we had so much fun.

We were stretching a bit with the silk which I hung on a tree.

After that we went to the harbor and put up the slack line in between two piers. And there we had our slackline above water. Something I wanted to try for a long time. It was awesome. It was very different from normal slackline because it was much more slippery but after trying hard for 2 hours I finally managed to cross.

I had nice encouragement too: my friend and my daughter and a couple who was passing by and I invited them to join -not knowing that they are pros 🙂 it was such a great surprise to see them doing tricks right away haha

Fantastic people!

At the very last day we went to check out the Plitvice lakes and waterfalls.

Last time I visited this place was 13 years ago. I must say that it is still very beautiful but it i would really like if people who go there to visit this beautiful place would be more respectful. We have seen a lot of trash thrown away. I mean come on guys, don’t tell me you can carry a full bottle until it serves it’s purpose and then you just have to throw it away? You can carry that freaking bottle until the trash.

So just to conclude:

Croatia is beautiful even if it is full of trash at places and people are not the friendliest sometimes… development will come with time I believe!

It is such an adorable country! Lets take care of it!
