This might sound like we have done this trip between these two countries for the first time. Well, nope.
We have just spent the last year in Hungary. My father passed away, my husband’s father passed away… so we are dealing with great loss this year. It certainly affects us on every level.
It really, does take time to process the loss of beloved ones.
Arriving to Portugal and back to our tiny home, we had to face the sad realisation: the tenants did not take a good care of it.
So we took a deep breath, thought like, it’s ok, at least the schools are all right for the kids.
When it turns out that, even that doesn’t come easy.
Due to COVID the application process was online. We were very happy for that from Hungary.
We had all the hope, that it will work out fine. Towards the end of August when we still didn’t receive any information from the schools we started to have some doubts.
Today, we found out that the school we were happy for, for our bigger child, is something like a -vocational school- not like a highschool with an art specialization.
Which is a problem. Why? Because our kid wants to go to university later. So this issue needs to be solved somehow…
About the smaller one’s situation… I can´t even tell you the whole story. To cut it short: she doesn’t have school yet and we don’t even know when she is going to have one although for her age, 4th grade, school has already started a week ago.
We are patient. We love the weather. We love this country and we love the people here.
However, unfortunately, life is not a fairy-tale, and we need to come up with real solutions.
We are figuring this part out right now.
Meanwhile, if somebody can answer me the million dollar question: Why there is no waldorf high school in Portugal? -I would be grateful beyond measures.
Stay tuned, more news will follow.
For now, it is very difficult to enjoy anything until these cardinal issues are haunting us on a daily basis.
We try to reconnect with the ocean every now and then and of course we need to fix our apartment and we have other projects going on…
Patience. Patience. And more patience. 🤪
