Lockdown Part 2

Here we go again. Lockdown part 2. This time in Portugal.

Just before Christmas we were not really sure about my mom’s visit to Portugal, but we were thinking secretely, deep inside, what if this will be the last time. So we bought her a ticket and she came for a week. She was very lucky with the weather. Right after she left it turned rather cold and gloomy and it has been like that ever since. Well not so cold anymore but definitely gloomy and rainy.

She is back in her home, safe, no covid, central heating. Which she was missing here a lot. Although with the small heaters we got, we tried heating the apartment, but it failed to meet her needs 🥶 Although we were fine with that 20degrees inside. Some people we know had less in their houses for a month.

Later on, the restricions started to take place. First, we were not allowed to commute between municipalities on the weekends after 13:00, but then towards the end of January, schools closed as well and we were banned from doing any unessential travel.

Beaches and parks closed too. So we had to put up with our neighbourhood. It is not bad I must say, as I got to know every corner of it by now. However, I miss surfing very much, I have to admit.

On the other hand, the kids are not too sad about the online teaching part.

Today, it was a sunny morning finally, so I dared to take our dog down to the beach and let him run around without the leash a little. After all, he is 17 years old this year and I have these thoughts: what if this is his last day…

So he was very happy, rolling over in the sand.

After that we just spent the day inside, online schooling.

Normally, we go for another walk around the neighbourhood at around 17:00, then I take the dog down again in the evening at around 22:00.

Days, weeks go by like this.

Hopefully, it won’t last long.

The curve started to flatten finally and people are hoping.

Better days are coming. 🤞🙏☀️
